Ifirst became interested in massage, when my father was diagnosed with Parkinsons disease in 2005. I began educating myself on the cause and it's affect on the body, and the treatment options, currently in use. Massage Therapy, happened to be one of the treatment options, so I then began self educating. I purchased books with instuction on pressure point and reflexology modalities, read and began using them on dad. Within weeks he had regained his driving priviledges, tremors became much less severe and his balance was improving. Initially, I must admit, I was a bit skeptical about massage having any benefit other than relaxation but after seeing the improvements in dad, I figured Massage Therapy school should be considered. It took me a few years to get to a point where I could attend school part time, while working full time. I enrolled in the Florida School of Massage in July of 2008 and graduated in July of 2009. While in school I learned how and why massge works answering any questions I had about the effectivness of massage. Not only did I receive instruction in Reflexology and pressure point modalities but also in swedish, sports, medical and neuromuscular (NMT) massage modalities. I also received instruction in polarity work and hydrotherapy techniques. Key components, to understanding how massage works is in having an understanding of anatomy, physiology and kinesiology, which I also received instruction in.
I now have many other clients, in addition to dad, and continue to see similar results with them. Massage therapy is amazingly affective, when administered properly, I am continually impressed in the difference I am now able to make in other people's lives, through my newly acquired skills.
Thank you for taking the time to get to know me. Perhaps it is time for your life to be changed. I look forward to meeting with you soon.
